A global semiconductor company, operating across the USA, EMEA, and APAC regions, embarked on a strategic initiative to upgrade its SAP system to S/4 and transition its analytics platform to Azure. As part of this broader digital transformation, the company needed to migrate its SAP and manufacturing data reporting from Tableau to Power BI. The migration was critical to ensure seamless integration and to leverage enhanced analytics capabilities. The project began in the APAC region, specifically focusing on South Korea, where 1,897 Tableau reports—each with over five tabs and six visualizations per tab—required conversion to Power BI.
KPI Partners deployed its 'Tableau to Power BI Utility' to automate the migration of all Tableau reports and metadata, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition. The migration followed a structured data pipeline, encompassing distinct stages of data ingestion, transformation, and preparation for Power BI reporting. At every stage of the pipeline, KPI's 'Data Validator' tool continuously verified data accuracy, ensuring consistency and integrity before the data reached the final reporting layer. This multi-stage approach progressively refined the data, guaranteeing that only clean and validated data was available for analysis. Additionally, KPI conducted a 1-day BootCamp to train the client’s business users on Power BI’s self-service reporting capabilities and the integration of Power BI CoPilot for advanced analytics.
