About SDUSD

San Diego Unified serves nearly 132,000 students in pre-school through grade 12 and is the second largest district in California. The student population is extremely diverse, representing more than 15 ethnic groups and more than 60 languages and dialects.

The District’s mission is that “All San Diego students will graduate with the skills, motivation, curiosity and resilience to succeed in their choice of college and career in order to lead and participate in the society of tomorrow.”

Challenges

San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) did not have a 360 view of student and staff performance or access to historical data for trending and longitudinal analysis. There was no visibility or analytical power to go beyond top/bottom performers and identify what was working and which students were at risk for failure.
